LIZ TRIGG is a consultant to commercial food companies, stylist, teacher, recipe writer and journalist. At
The Good Housekeeping Research Institute she was Food Development
Consultant to large food companies and retailers. She has been Food
Editor of Company and Options Magazine, styled a number of books and
she has contributed articles to a range of publications including Daily
Telegraph, BBC Good Food Magazine, BBC Gourmet Magazine and Australian
Vogue Entertaining. Liz spent 8 years working for Asda working on food
trends and she set up and ran the Asda Academy of Food Skills. Liz
co-presented The Mediterranean Diet Video with Amanda Ursell and
appeared on This Morning (ITV1) and presented 60 programmes for GSkyB’s
Goodlife Gourmet. Her first book 50 Sensational Stir Fries has been
re-printed five times and was serialised by The Daily Mail. She
followed this with 50 Fabulous Fish Recipes, Glorious Country, British
Country Cooking, A Flash in the Pan, The London Cookbook and Weight
Watchers Pizza and Pasta book. She has worked intensively for Heinz
Food and is a food consultant to Marks & Spencer. Liz also creates and runs food themed team building events. Biography
Liz Trigg is a passionate cook who cares about the food we all eat
and she has a fresh and contemporary style. Her enthusiasm for food is
based on her knowledge and experience in communicating about food to
different audiences for over 13 years. Recognition of her
talent began early, with prizes awarded to her at school. After her BSc
in Home Economics at Cardiff University, her practical talents were put
into practice at Prue Leith's Good Food Company, where she was
responsible for the food on the Orient Express as well as acting as
head cook for Government and Royal Household venues. She began
her media career as Home Economist for Home and Freezer Digest
Magazine, where she contributed recipes and styled the food for the
magazine's cookery pages. She moved to The Good Housekeeping Research
Institute as Food Project Manager, where she acted as Food Development
Consultant to large food companies and retailers. Wanting to
broaden her culinary horizons she cooked in Switzerland for a while,
returning as Deputy Cookery Editor for Woman and Home Magazine. She
became Food Editor of Company Magazine and lectured at Leith's School
of Food and Wine on food photography. She then became Food Editor of
Options Magazine, where her role included writing on serious food
issues as well as commenting on new foods, new products, writing
recipes and acting as food stylist. She has Food Styled for
books such as Robert Carrier's Vegetarian Cookbook and six Good
Housekeeping books and she has contributed articles to a range of
publications including Daily Telegraph, BBC Good Food Magazine, BBC
Gourmet Magazine and Australian Vogue Entertaining. Liz
co-presented The Mediterranean Diet Video with Amanda Ursell and has
presented a series of features about party planning for ITV's This
Morning programme. She was resident cookery presenter for GSkyB's
Goodlife Gourmet from September 1996 for its run of 60 programmes. She
has also guested a number of times for The Cook's Garden for GSkyB,
Carlton Food Network's Food for Friends and Carlton Food Network
Daily. Her first book 50 Sensational Stir Fries has been
re-printed five times and was serialised by The Daily Mail. She
followed this with 50 Fabulous Fish Recipes, Glorious Country, British
Country Cooking, A Flash in the Pan, The London Cookbook and Weight
Watchers Pizza and Pasta book. She travels extensively in her
quest to keep up with world food trends and is a member of the
International Association of Culinary Professionals. When she joined
the British Guild of Food Writers, she was one of its youngest
members. She is currently a food consultant for Marks & Spencer. |
