Jean is a well-known and respected interiors writer and stylist. Her work has graced some of the most influencial style magazines in the US. She has written many books and is currently the editor of Ty Pennington At Home and Remodeling & Makeovers magazines, both Woman's Day Special Interest Publications.

Biography

Jean Nayar is currently the editor of Budget Decorating Ideas magazine, a Woman’s Day special interest publication. She also recently edited the premiere issue of At Home with Chris Madden magazine, and has just completed three decorating books, 52 Weekend Decorating Projects and Budget Makeovers (both Filipacchi Publishing, 2005), and Curtains, Covers, Cushions (Mitchell Beazley, 2008).

Other magazines she has edited include Budget Decorating Ideas, Woman’s Day Walls, Windows & Floors, Good Housekeeping Do It Yourself and House Beautiful Home Building magazines. Jean Nayar is also a contributing editor to two design trade publications, Architectural Lighting and Contract magazines, has contributed a column on crafts for kids to Child magazine, and has written for a variety of consumer magazines, including Real Simple, House Beautiful Decorating & Home Remodelling and Interior Design. She has appeared as a guest on DIY Crafts, a program of the Do-It-Yourself Network, Scripps Productions, and has designed home decor and crafts projects and styled interiors for a variety of decorating magazines. Her book Detailing Light: Integrated Lighting Solutions for Contract and Residential Design (The Whitney Library of Design) recently went into its third printing.
