Judith
Wilson is a specialist
interiors journalist,
author and lecturer.
She
is a Contributing Editor
for House & Garden,
and a regular columnist
for The Resident magazine.
She has been a
design writer for over
20 years, and her work
has appeared in numerous
national magazines and
newspapers, including
House & Garden,
Homes & Gardens,
Telegraph Magazine,
Elle Deco, Country Living,
Living etc, The English
Home, Easy Living, Red,
Junior and The Resident.
She
is the author of 13
books on interiors.
Her latest book,
Casual Living (Ryland
Peters & Small),
was published in Autumn
2010. Her other
titles include The Vintage
Home and The Natural
Home (Jacqui Small),
and Teen Zone, Babies’
Rooms, Harmonious Home,
Essential Home and Children’s
Spaces (Ryland, Peters
& Small). Judith’s
best-selling titles
have sold widely in
the UK, the US and in
Europe.
Judith
regularly lectures on
Styling at the KLC School
of Design, and has guest-lectured
for the British Institute
of Interior Design and
at Design Centre Chelsea
Harbour. She has
contributed to a number
of radio and TV programmes.
Biography
Judith
was born and educated
in Liverpool. She
did an MA in English
Literature at Warwick
University, then, after
a brief stint working
in book publishing,
launched her magazine
career as an interiors
journalist at IPC Magazines.
She worked full-time
at Homes & Gardens
for six years, latterly
as Decorating Editor,
then left to pursue
a freelance career in
1997.
Since
she published her first
interiors book, Transforming
the Interior (Conran
Octopus) in 1997, Judith
has gone on to write
12 more books on interior
design. She specialises
in delivering inspirational
ideas, teamed with down-to-earth
advice, and she has
a firm understanding
of the ebb and flow
of family living. Her
latest book, Casual
Living (Ryland Peters
& Small) sums up
her philosophy, and
extracts from it were
featured in both Elle
Deco and Country Living.
Judith
lives with her husband,
and their two teenage
children, in a 1920s
house in South West
London.
