In the final week of MasterChef 2017, the remaining five amateur cooks travelled to Winfield House, the official residence of the American ambassador to the United Kingdom. They had the immense task of cooking for him and his five guests, replicating a menu designed by chef Paul Ainsworth who has held a Michelin star at his Padstow restaurant since 2012.
But they needn't have been nervous, as Paul wowed contestants and viewers alike with his encouragement and support, in stark contrast to the strict pressure usually placed on MasterChef contestants.
Viewers took to social media to declare Paul's style a “breath of fresh air” that will prompt more to join the industry, and his Twitter profile was trending in the UK throughout the show!
