Irish cooking queen Rachel Allen stars alongside Michelin star restaurateur Glynn Purnell as the new judges on My Kitchen Rules UK, returning for a second series on Channel 4 this month.
Across eight weeks the duo will judge 20 pairs of enterprising and inspired amateur cooks from four regions of the UK, who will open their own home restaurants for one ambitious night, in a bid to scoop the £10,000 prize and the right to say, ‘My Kitchen Rules.’
As the competition heats up, the strongest teams from each region will go through to the new MKR Mansion, where their culinary skills will be put to the test as they are joined every day by a different world renowned chef or culinary guru. In a dramatic new twist to the series, the guest chefs will challenge the teams to cook with a mystery ingredient, whilst mentoring and guiding them along the way. The winning teams from this round will make it to Kitchen Headquarters for a final series of cook-off challenges, which will see one team crowned the MKR UK Champions.
Prior to My Kitchen Rules, Rachel hosted 14 of her own series’ broadcast worldwide in over 30 countries including on BBC, UKTV Good Food. She is also a renowned cookery writer with 15 books to her name, as well as teaching at world famous Ballymaloe Cookery School, and running her own restaurant, Rachel's, in Cork.
My Kitchen Rules starts 25th September, weekdays at 4pm on Channel 4
